Shahla Gulistani is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at University of British Columbia in BC, Canada where she is majoring in International relations and minoring in French as an International leader of tomorrow award recipient. She received her International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma from Lester B. Pearson United World College of the Pacific representing Afghanistan among students from more than 80 different countries across the world. Shahla is an alumna of Access as well as Youth Solidarity and English Language program (YSEL 2014) program. She currently works as Vice president of First Generation Students’ Union student club and she will be starting her work as a Residence Advisor at UBC in fall. She loves reading, learning new languages, visual arts, discovering new places and exploring other cultures. Shahla is beyond thrilled to be working with the remarkable group of young leaders at the Rainbow summer camp once again this summer to help create a safe environment for college students to share their thoughts on sensitive topics regarding cultural differences, discrimination and tolerance.
