Call for Submissions

The Rainbow Afghanistan Organization, aiming to strengthen scientific, social, and political discourse regarding the rights and situation of sexual and gender minorities, invites activists, researchers, writers, and advocates to contribute their works for publication on our official website and media channels.

Why this call?

The LGBTIQ community in Afghanistan is facing one of the most challenging periods in its history; oppression, structural discrimination, systematic violence, and persecution against the LGBTIQ community in Afghanistan require serious documentation, research, analysis, and storytelling.

Through this call, Rainbow Afghanistan seeks to:

  • Provide a platform for producing knowledge and critical literature on the situation of the LGBTIQ community in Afghanistan.
  • Amplify the voices of activists and researchers and reflect them nationally and internationally.
  • Enable critique of discriminatory policies and structures against sexual and gender minorities.
  • Create a space for new and enlightening discourse within civil society and the global community.

Accepted fields:

  • Analysis
  • Articles
  • Research
  • Investigative content
  • Reviews and opinions (especially on discriminatory policies and structures against the LGBTIQ community)

Suggested word count:

  • Essay: 1,000 to 2,500 words
  • Academic article: 3,000 to 6,000 words (with credible sources and references)

Submission requirements:

  • Submitted works must not have been published previously.
  • Compliance with scientific writing standards and proper referencing is mandatory.
  • The language of submission can be Persian or English.
  • Accepted works will be published on the Rainbow Afghanistan website and official pages.
